We have been deeply involved in the initial stages of a visionary megaproject that combines digital infrastructure with sustainable energy and advanced sector-coupled solutions. The project includes the development of a 250 MW data center that utilizes excess heat to warm large greenhouses on-site, where vegetables will be cultivated, while also supplying district heating to nearby communities. In addition, solar and wind energy options will be integrated, giving the project a significant green footprint.
In the startup phase, our tasks have included preparing applications for regulatory approval and analyzing the project’s technical and legal aspects. Moving forward, we will conduct comprehensive mapping of the area, both physically and digitally, including ground surveying and aerial inspections with drones. We will also identify property and regulatory challenges and, in close collaboration with local municipalities, develop local and municipal planning and prepare environmental assessments for both plans and projects.
The project entails substantial energy requirements, necessitating specific expertise in cable routing and integration with the 150 kV grid. Our role will also involve identifying the optimal power cable routes through open landscapes, which requires precise analyses, coordination, and strategic collaboration with landowners to negotiate voluntary agreements for cable placement.
This project not only paves the way for future sustainable solutions but also sets new standards for how sector coupling can create added value for both the environment and society.
